First 2007 OSEG Meeting Tuesday February 6th At 18:00 Agenda Per Eivind Dehlie, PGS: " PGS Mega surveys - A live demo" PGS MegaSurvey has over the last 5 years developed from being a simple merge of 3D seismic data to becoming a massive 3D MegaSurvey, utilized in all aspects of exploration and other sub-sea studies. Today it encompasses more than 450 3D seismic datasets, covering more than 220.000 sq km in the NW Europe offshore areas. A live demo of the dataset will be shown, along with examples of its usage Boerge Arntsen, Statoil: "Experiences with imaging of wide azimuth Ocean Bottom Seismic Data" Over the last few years a relatively large number of Ocean Bottom Seismic (OBS) surveys have been acquired in the North Sea. In almost all cases have the quality of the OBS P-wave data been better than the corresponding surface streamer data. The increase in quality has been attributed to the larger cross-line offsets and better spatial sampling of the OBS data acquisition geometry. Several examples from existing oil- and gas-fields in the North Sea are shown, contrasting OBS and streamer seismic data and showing the impact of OBS data on interpretation and understanding of geological structure of reservoirs. A third presentation may be announced shortly pending confirmation by presenter.
